Thank you so much for looking after our Libby. She had a blast with you and all the other doggies. I knew you from the gym and knew you loved your doggies but didn’t know you took in boarders. Thank goodness I found that out.
Libby is only 1 year old and it was the first time we had left her. Don’t think she missed us much!
You looked after her so well, she came back tired, contented and slotted back into her old routine straight away.
I know she can be a bit of a madam at times, but you handled her so well, Eileen. I will recommend you to all my doggy friends.
All the many emails helped us, knowing you were looking after her.
Thanks again Eileen xx
Christine Bradbury, Aberdeen. (Libby is a gorgeous one year old Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier … who likes to push the envelope a bit … but is a complete cuddlebum really. She celebrated her first birthday with me at Love Dogs and had a wee party with her pals.)
We want to say a big thank you to Eileen for taking such great care of our lurcher, Blue. He has stayed with Eileen a few times now. Blue is very active and, as you can imagine being a lurcher, he needs to run and play but also he is very affectionate. Without a doubt Blue received the best possible care and attention. We went on holiday with great peace of mind knowing Eileen was taking great care of him. Eileen genuinely loves dogs: you can tell that immediately when you meet her. Also dogs love Eileen. Thank you Eileen xx
Cindy and Dek. (Blue is a very much beloved lurcher who both needs and deserves (and gets) lots and lots of TLC. A pleasure to have in my home and on our walks).
What a great find.
I was so worried as my big baby, Jessie, is getting on a bit and as she has been in “so called” luxury kennels a few times (and to be fair there are two that I might recommend) I have always been concerned even although she has come home fine. But there’s no place like home.
I needed to find somewhere for her to stay for just a few days at short notice. I searched the web and found this lovely lady. After chatting to her on the phone I felt I wanted to go and meet her along with Jessie.
When I started talking to family I found out that my niece’s friend once lived nearby and what she said put my mind at ease even more. Until then I thought, what am I doing leaving her with a complete stranger, who knows what might happen to my Jessie.
Jessie, myself and my sister went to visit Eileen at her home. She welcomed us and immediately was down on the floor fussing Jessie. My fears of Jessie’s well being disappeared as I knew Jessie would definitely come first and foremost (dogs always come first in Eileen’s world which is lovely to see). Jessie went on holiday at Eileen’s for a few days and she must have had a great time. She probably now finds life back at home a bit boring. Then again she is getting on and can’t do what she used to do.
Eileen was so helpful at all times with trying to work out my needs on time of collecting her as well as all Jessie’s needs and to my very huge surprise when we collected her she smelt wonderful and just like she had just come from the groomers. Nothing like the way she always smells when I have collected her from kennels in the past.
I have already booked Jessie in with Eileen for the future and I know I will go away knowing she will have a great holiday and Eileen will enjoy fussing her too.
Now my holidays will always happen when Eileen has a space and not when I want to go.
Big thank you to Eileen we will be back again soon.
Wendy Rose, Cushnie, Alford. (Jessie is an absolutely gorgeous 10 year old Leonberger – a wonderfully good natured and easy girl who put up with endless cuddles and fussing and grooming with good grace and patience!). I look forward to the next time, Jessie x
I left my Harris a springer spaniel (very active) boy with Eileen for the first time recently. Any worries I had at leaving him were quickly put to rest. Eileen’s own home is warm, friendly and loving for dogs. (Same for humans too!) Eileen took the time to listen to the needs and wants for Harris as he is sort of trained to the whistle and has certain commands that he follows, along with his own routines.
I would not hesitate in leaving Harris again with Eileen, and most importantly I know that Harris feels the same.
Anne Donald, Monymusk. (Harris is a very lively and happy 2 year old black and white Springer spaniel who did not put one paw wrong the entire time he was with me. Come back any time, Harris)
Our Bernese Mountain Dog Nevis has stayed with Eileen several times now. Last time we dropped him off he ran straight into her garden, wagging his tail happily and jumped into the back of her vehicle ready for his walk! It makes it so much easier for us to go away knowing that he is happy and safe in Eileen’s care. He always comes home a happy, tired out doggie, having obviously had a lot of fun with Eileen and his doggie friends. Huge thanks, Eileen, for making Nevis feel so loved that he’s always happy to come back!”
Jenny and Rob Anderson, Drumoak (Nevis is a 2 year old Bernese Mountain dog who is as handsome, gorgeous and laid back as he is huge). I appear to be the ‘Bernese Mountain Dog Home Boarder’ at the moment. No complaints this end!
Thank you so much for caring for Mozart. It was the first time he had stayed away from home and we were looking for the best possible care – Eileen, you provided him with that and more – including frequent text message updates whilst we were on holiday. Each message was greatly appreciated by all the family and enabled us to relax and enjoy our holiday. Mozart enjoyed a ‘home from home’ experience including nice long walks, lots of love, care, cuddles and attention. He came home a very happy boy.
We shall not hesitate in recommending Eileen to our friends. Mozart is already looking forward to his next ‘holiday’. Eileen you are the best and really do ‘love dogs’.
Thank you for everything.
The Bradley Family
Sandra Bradley, Drumoak (Mozart is a 10 month old Bernese Mountain dog who is as mischevious as he is cuddly and lovable).
Finding Eileen has been a life saver. Bailey is our baby and she had never been in a kennel or around other dogs, she has always been looked after by my parents when we have gone on holiday. Due to ill health they can no longer care for her and I was so worried about leaving her with a stranger. How wrong was I? …. Eileen is a new member of the family. Bailey absolutely adores her and thoroughly enjoys meeting ‘new friends’ at Eileen’s home. She is always happy being dropped off and I’m sure she doesn’t want to come home to her hum drum life .
Without doubt there could be no safer place to leave your doggy
Siobhan Dreelan, Milltimber (Bailey is, unsurprisingly, a Bailey’s Irish Cream coloured Shih Tzu with a very definite mind of her own. I’m honoured to now be Bailey’s Auntie. I’m not sure I’m ready to be her susbstitue Granny just yet though!).
Prior to a recent stay with Eileen, our six year old retriever, Ciara, had only ever stayed with friends or relatives who are well known to her and we did not feel comfortable leaving her in kennels. However, thankfully we discovered Eileen as the experience there is certainly not that of a boarding kennel but rather one of a welcoming home with an owner who really does ‘love doggies’! Before Ciara noticed me at the gate when I arrived to collect her (after she had spent 3 days with Eileen) I saw her jump into the back of Eileen’s car as if quite happy to head back off out for another walk! She was exhausted when she got home though so I had no doubt she had plenty of exercise and I would have no hesitation in taking Ciara back to stay with Eileen again in future.
Sandra Grant, Stonehaven (Ciara is quite a shy six year old Golden Retriever)
Many thanks to Eileen for taking such good care of our whippet, Sophie, whilst we were away on holiday. If, like us, you don’t like the idea of your dog going into kennels, then Eileen’s home from home is the place to choose. She treats all her ‘lodgers’ as if they were her own. Sophie had 2 x 2 hour daily runs up Learney hill and various other places which she loved. She has come back home in tip top whippet condition—-I think she could almost outrun a cheetah now!!
Joan Murray, Findon (Sophie is a pretty needy whippet – aren’t they all? – who just wants to be held and cuddled … and walked for miles we’ve discovered).
I have left Baxter with Eileen at Love Dogs a few times now and never stress. When I get updates saying he is sleeping on Eileen’s lap after a day of fun running around with other dogs that is all the peace of mind I need!
He is always happy to be left there and I am sure he misses the fun with his chums after he is picked up. I have no doubts at all when arranging a weekend away or longer in leaving him the capable hands of Love Dogs, thank you!
Roberta Geddes, Kintore (Baxter is an excitable, kissy and gorgeous 1 year old black Cocker spaniel)
Thank you so much for looking after Jasper for us while we were away in Germany. We had no worries about leaving Jasper as we knew he would be very well looked after in your home and made to feel part of the family. You have such a lovely manner with the dogs which put our minds at ease straight away. It was great to get the texts you sent us with updates about Jasper. We could tell jasper had enjoyed his holiday when we got him home. He was very relaxed and happy.
Roxy, Hamish and ‘Jasper’ who is a very lively 3 year old springer spaniel.
We left our Bailey (Border Collie) with Eileen for a week this June. With Bailey being a rescue dog and not taking to kindly to kennels, we had to find somewhere that he would be loved like he is at home. We found this with Eileen. After an initial introductory stroll to get to know each other, Bailey took to Eileen instantly and Eileen to Bailey. She treated him like her own and this was evident when we returned to drop him off for his stay, he was so excited to see her it made everything the more enjoyable for our family knowing he was somewhere where he would be happy. The service did not only stop here, whilst on our holiday Eileen texted us frequently to let us know Bailey was settling in and was comfortable and having a great time. It is extremely reassuring that we know that Eileen and Bailey have a good relationship and lets us relax for knowing we can go on future holidays without having to worry if Bailey would be ok. So a big thanks to Eileen.
Victoria Wilson, Stonehaven (Bailey is an absolutely lovable black and white collie who became my shadow).
Thank you so much for looking after Noosa for us recently while we were away on holiday. It was great to know she was in such good hands and settled and enjoyed her “holiday” with her new chums and her adopted “Mum”. We worried she wouldn’t want to come home! Noosa sends you a big cuddle, misses you and thanks you lots. Really appreciated everything.
Gavin and Katrina Angus, Dyce (Noosa is an extremely affectionate 5 year old Weimeraner)
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you so much for looking after Pika on occasions these past couple of years. Despite her timid response when she first arrives I know that she has received great care, attention and love…..and not forgetting fantastic long walks and making friends along the way!! She’s always been returned a very happy and tired pooch.
Ian McWhinnie, Aberdeen (Pika is the sweetest wee 18 month old Jack Russell cross Yorkshire Terrier who now sadly must be rehomed).
Our two very adored boys have just returned from their very first four week holiday with you. I say holiday, as that was just exactly what it was; endless walks, new friends, love, cuddles and pampering, what more could you ask for your four legged pals?
We made a conscious decision to bring George and Fergus up from Edinburgh, on a friend’s recommendation as we couldn’t face the thought of leaving them in boarding kennels for such a prolonged period. Any worries of separation anxiety and stress were immediately dismissed when they entered your care. You very quickly sent us amusing doggie updates which confirmed they had settled in immediately and had left any loyalties to us very much behind .
It made a very special holiday for us even better knowing they were so relaxed, at home and happy. On our return on Saturday they looked so healthy, and smelled DIVINE. Since coming home Fergus has definitely got the “Eileen blues”.
We have now made another conscious decision: that from now on any future doggie boarding will be with Eileen. It’s definitely worth the extra distance from Edinburgh!
Huge thanks to you again ,
Bryan , Helen and of course your new best friends George and Fergus x
Helen Smyth, Edinburgh (Fergus is an 8 year old golden Labrador Retriever and a giant gentleman. George is a 4 year old black Labrador Retriever and a lovable rogue!)
We left our five year old Lurcher, Bella, with Eileen for the first time last week. She is an incredibly sensitive dog and, sadly, ten days before, we had to have our other lovely girl, Eve, put to sleep so Bella was missing her terribly. Bella was met with such a warm welcome by Eileen who could not have been nicer. It was such a relief and I drove away feeling that Bella would receive all the cuddles and love she needed. I wasn’t wrong. I picked her up six days later, having had a number of texts from Eileen to say she was ok and settling in well. She had such a lovely time, wonderful long walks, played with all the other dogs and laid in front of the fire, her favourite thing. I am so thrilled to have found Eileen whom I know I can entrust our very special girl to. I could not recommend her more to anyone trying to make the difficult decision about where best to leave your dog whilst you go away. If Eileen lived a little nearer I would even consider Bella going for just odd days as I think she already misses all the fun she had whilst there! Thank you Eileen for all your care and attention bestowed on Bella.
Caroline Halls, Banchory
Thanks for the great care you gave to Tessa when we were away. We think she was in the huff the day after we picked her up, missing all her friends!
It’s so good to go on holiday and know that your dog is happy and being well looked after.
Thanks again. Eileen.
Sue and Grahame Smith, Drumoak x (Tessa is a really lovely and extremely well-mannered 8 year old Springer spaniel who is sadly also an epileptic)
Thank-you so much for making our Lily part of your family while we were away. I was never concerned for her happiness and well being as I knew right away she was in good hands. When we visited you prior to our trip Lily was immediately comfortable. She did not display any stress and in fact made herself right at home in your lap! Your manner with dogs is obviously in tune with your love for them – they must sense that. When we picked Lily up she was relaxed and happy and acted as if we had never been away. She came home to us more fit than we left her – not to mention quite a bit cleaner !
Hairy hugs from all of us.
Liz Shen, Banchory Devenick (Lily is a gorgeous 10 year old Siberian Husky cross Springer spaniel … I’m not making this up … who has just relocated to Aberdeen from Alaska)
After a two week stay with Eileen, Coco is finding life back home rather dull I fear! Her holiday from us consisted of fabulous walks every day with lots of other interesting dogs, heaps of cuddles, and the type of care that managed to put our minds at rest from the outset. Eileen gave us lots of updates, dealt with a vet-based emergency in a perfect manner, and even managed to get our rather chubby weimaraner considerably slimmer! I can honestly say that the service we received (and it is so much more than a ‘service’) was incomparable. I would recommend Eileen to anyone and know that Coco will thoroughly enjoy her future stays at ‘I Love Dogs.’
Linda Watson-Brown, Aberdeen (Coco is an extremely affectionate 2 year old Weimaraner)
Dear Eileen, Thank you so much for taking such good care of my little Lola. Felt like she had a lovely holiday with you. I now no longer have to worry about her while I am away because I know she is in safe hands. Many thanks, again.
The Kemps, Aberdeen (Lola is a really cute 3 year old Lhaso Apso)
Thank you so much for taking care of Farley while we were away. He loved every minute, came home a relaxed and happy dog, and will be eagerly anticipating his next visit!
Graham and Heather Larson, Aberdeen (Farley is a gorgeous 11 year old German Shepherd cross Siberian Husky)
Thanks Eileen for providing a real home-from-home for Sydney. I could see how much he enjoyed his week with you. Having delivered Syd to you with a sore paw and a supply of tablets, I SO appreciated you getting in touch to reassure me that all was well!
Holidays are so much more relaxing when you know your dog is having such a

Thank you SO much for taking such care of Tattie-Bogle and Hobbes. They clearly loved being with you and they both looked SO well and happy after my break. You REALLY are special and I am REALLY lucky to have you on our doorstep. I will never worry about going away again! Many thanks again – especially for being so kind to my old boy.
Jane Summers, Aboyne (human being who belongs to Hobbes the 14 year old stroke survivor collie and Tattie the 3 year old Border terrier).
Thank you for taking such sweet care of our dog, Ginger. We knew that while we were living in Scotland we would be taking frequent holidays. Finding ‘Love Dogs’ was a great feeling knowing Ginger would have her own version of a 5 star holiday!
She always smells yummy and looks trimmer and happy when we come to pick her up! We love that you take extended walks – multiple times a day – and that you give her lots of snuggles and kisses.
Thanks for taking such exceptional care of our furry family member!
Kyli Carroll, Bieldside ( Ginger is a Lab retriever mix, 7 years old.)
Dear Auntie Eileen,
I cannot wait until my next visit , I love my mom, but you have a very special place in my heart, will you be my 2nd mommy?
I get very excited when we turn the corner to your house, and cannot get out of the car quick enough. I’m in doggie heaven with loads of friends to play with, and awesome long walks and all the attention I get and then cuddling up adoringly at your feet. It’s sometimes hard to leave……
lots of cuddles,
As you can tell from the above my 1 year old Labrador is in love, but I’m also very happy. It’s the best thing to know your dog is safe and enjoying life when you’re busy. I cannot recommend Eileen and Love Dogs enough.
Angela Foster, Drumoak.
“Dear Auntie Eileen,
Thank you for having me to stay for a whole week. I loved your warm, comfy home, all the care and cuddles, the long walks with furry friends and most of all Finty, my first Bestest Friend. Mummy said she will bring me for lots of play dates.
Lots of love and Woof, Woofs.
Dougal (9 month old miniature Schnauzer of Marion and Gordon Leslie, Banchory) who now spends every Friday with me for Doggy Day Care.
“Eileen, thank you for looking after Rosie our German Shorthaired Pointer. You had six dogs that week-end to walk, you did really well but who was walking who?! Rosie had a ball with plenty new friends to play with and never a dull moment. Rosie loved your home from home comforts and would love to come back again.”
Lesley Davidson, Westhill
“I left my deerhound with Eileen for a long weekend and came back to find a dog who was so well settled he was reluctant to leave!! Can’t fault the excellent care he received during his stay – very well walked and looked after. This is not “kennels” but a lifestyle!! I would thoroughly recommend Eileen and if dogs could talk I’m sure Jay Jay would as well.”
Dave Inglis, Aberdeen.
“Thank you for looking after our baby, Eileen. We enjoyed our holiday so much more knowing he was being so well looked after. All our love Donna, Rob, Melissa, Matthew, Angel and Ross xxxxxx
Thank you so much for looking after me while my family was on holiday. I had a lovely time and learnt some new things too – my mummy is very pleased. Things are back to normal here, there’s washing everywhere. One thing you didn’t teach me was not to pinch socks from the laundry basket so I’m having fun doing that. Mummy is looking for some classes and training for me, she hopes it will tire me out. We will see! I hope I can stay with you again some time soon. Lots of love and hugs from Ros xxxx
The Sinclair Family and Ross”
“Rosco settled in very well with Eileen and thoroughly enjoyed his sleepover. It certainly gives you peace of mind to know your pooch is so well cared for and loved to bits in your absence! I have sung your praises to my fellow dog walkers and will definitely be using your services again.
Janet and Rosco”
Bronach and Dana thoroughly enjoyed their stay with Eileen. They came back happy, clean, full of beans and very well exercised – they had clearly been given all home from home comforts! Eileen even had Dana out running with her (Dana is a greyhound/collie lurcher). I would heartily recommend Eileen and the Hilton at Hillcrest, knowing that our dogs had the very best of care and a great deal of affection.
Ian and Eveline, Drumoak
“Shadow had a wonderful time on his walkies with the girls. Excellent value for money as he had very extended hourly walks. Glad he sorted our your kindling requirements for the week, he does like carrying sticks! Very good service and we are happy to recommend you to other dog owners.”
Kate and Irene, Drumoak.
After being so wonderfully spoilt by your hospitality at 5-star Hillcrest Hotel, I feel I am coming back to earth with the mundane life here at home. I want to thank you for looking after me beautifully, ably accommodating all my foibles. I apologise for some of my habits; you were so clever to be able to cope with them. My excuse is my age: I am a very old canine, now, you know. Even so, the walks in new places, the great company of Scarlett, Finty and Dinah and the lively atmosphere gave me a terrific long weekend.
Thanking you with woofs”
Barney (13 year old collie of Frank and Ali Odds, Drumoak)
